members of the faculty, the University Police and a representative

The
Campus Bookstore hosted the presentation of the 2004
Student Showcase Journal: Celebrating 20 Years of Student
Showcase. The journal, as an extension of the
Student Showcase program, is a collection of research
papers written on many different subjects by UAA students. |

UAA
was proud to host Dr. Robert Corell,
Chair of the Steering Committee for the Arctic Climate
Impact Assessment, for his lecture Impacts of
a Warming Arctic. This event, held in the Fine
Arts Building Recital Hall, was co-sponsored by the Alaska
Forum on the Environment, the UAA Environmental Studies
Program and the Campus Bookstore. |

The
Campus Bookstore and Department of Journalism co-sponsored
a forum on Ethics in Journalism. Panelists
at the events included UAA Atwood Chairs,
William Tobin and Fred Pearce.
This event was held in the Fine Arts Building Recital
Hall.

Master
Wakoen Soshi--Kazuko Smith, UAA Japanese
instructure, demonstrated the art and philosophy of SHO
DO, Japanese calligraphy, at the Campus Bookstore. |
Renowned
Alaska Artist Jon Van Zyle, offical artist
of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, held an art exhibit and
brought his books and memorabilia to the Campus Bookstore.
Best of all, he unveiled his newest print, "The
Nature of UAA", created for the UAA Graduating
Class of 2005. |

This event featured a panel of six women, all UAA
faculty. |
The
Campus Bookstore and guests celebrated Women's History Month
with the notorious singer and songwriter Judy Gorman.
Her appearance was sponsored Alaska Pacific University,
Women's Services, and Student Activities. |

Linda McCarriston for a special book signing. |

Campus Bookstore hosted Live Video Chats with Adult
Education Pioneer Women with host Gretchen
Bersch. |

who presented her book Pitch Like a Girl: How a Women
Can Be Herself and Still Succeed. |

Campus Bookstore hosted an event entitled Geomatics:
The Face of a New Field of Study. This forum featured
panel members from UAA's own faculty, NOAA and the Department
of Transportation. |

Patricia Klindienst,
author of Earth Knows My Name, gave workshops and
presentations throughout the day at the Consortium Library.
This event was sponsored by the Campus Bookstore, the Sitka
Island Institute, ACB, AHF and others. |
